BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― Government officials are issuing a recall for baby bassinets made by Simplicity after a deadly incident involving two babies.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says infants can slip through the bars and suffocate in the "close-sleeper" or "bedside sleeper" bassinets made by the Pennsylvania company.
The Simplicity product, also known as a 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 convertible bassinet, contains metal bars spaced farther apart than federal standards allow.
Consumers can call the Consumer Product Safety Commission for more information at 800-638-2772.
