Setton Pistachio Expands Recall to 2 Million Pounds

Setton Pistachio, the nation's second-largest pistachio processor which sells nuts to Kraft Foods and 35 other wholesalers across the country, has recalled more than 2 million pounds of nuts over fears of possible salmonella contamination.

No illnesses have been reported yet, but the following recalls have been announced because the products, which were distributed by the California nut processor, may be contaminated with the organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

Also, Gurley's Foods Inc. is recalling select Mountain Country pistachios. No illness has been reported. The recalled products were primarily sold in convenience stores. They were distributed in Colorado, Wyoming, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and New Jersey. Details: by phone at 800-426-7845.
