Cervelo Wolf SL Fork Recall

Cervélo has identified a potential safety issue involving the fork steerer which can crack and eventually break during normal use, causing the rider to lose control, fall and suffer serious injuries. Therefore, Cervélo is voluntarily recalling all True Temper Wolf SL carbon bicycle forks.

Although the Wolf SL carbon bicycle fork passed all the standard industry tests, this particular problem was not uncovered during those standard tests. Cervélo has now discontinued the use of the True Temper Wolf SL carbon bicycle fork.

Description:

The recalled forks have a clear coating over black painted carbon fiber, with the words “Wolf Superlite” and related logo just below the crown on each fork leg, and the words “SL” on each leg above the fork blade dropouts. There is a True Temper CRT™ logo on the inside of both fork legs. The recalled forks could have been included on the following bicycle models: R3, R3 SL, Soloist Carbon, Soloist Carbon SL, and certain P3 Carbon framesets and complete bicycles.

The True Temper Wolf SL carbon fiber bicycle fork subject to this recall were sold through independent bicycle retailers in the UK from November 2005 through July 2008 as an OEM specified component on some units of the following Cervélo framesets and bicycle models: R3, R3 SL, Soloist Carbon, Soloist Carbon SL, and certain P3 Carbon framesets and complete bicycles. It was also sold through independent bicycle retailers in the UK as an individual after-market item from November 2005 through June 2007. This recall only applies to Wolf SL forks. The Wolf TT or CL forks are not included.

Remedy:

Consumers should immediately stop using bicycles equipped with the recalled forks and contact their authorised Cervélo dealer to have a free replacement fork installed. Find your local Cervélo dealer using the following webpage: www.cervelo.com/WolfSLRecall. Recalled True Temper Wolf SL forks will be replaced with the 3T Funda Pro or the Easton EC90SLX fork. Replacement forks will be provided free of charge to the consumer. Labour charges associated with this work will be covered by Cervélo.
