WASHINGTON, June 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a recall of 120 cans of Kroger-brand chicken noodle soup in three states due to a labeling error.
The FDA said the five cases of soup might contain cream of celery soup instead of chicken noodle soup as indicated by the label, posing a health risk to people allergic to milk.
The recalled soup was distributed by Bay Valley Foods of Green Bay, Wis., to Dillon stores in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. The recalled 10.5-ounce cans are marked with lot code 52104098, and a "best before" date code of "40910" (April 9, 2010) on the bottom of each can.
Consumers can return the product for a refund or contact Bay Valley Foods at 800-983-0823 for information.
