WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of Mut Gung-brand sweetened ginger because of a labeling error.
The FDA said K-Fat Inc. of Brooklyn, N.Y., initiated the recall because the product might contact undeclared sulfites, posing a health hazard for people who have a sensitivity to sulfites.
The Mut Gung-brand sweetened ginger was distributed nationwide to retail stores and through mail orders in clear plastic 150g containers.
Consumers can return the recalled product for a refund or can contact the company at 718-381-0306 for further information.
