A Rhode Island company is recalling packages of ready-to-eat chicken soup.
Simmering Soup Inc., of Cumberland, is recalling about 1,000 pounds of chicken noodle products because they may contain soy, which can cause an allergic reaction in some people.
There have been no reports of illness. The recall is being done as a precaution.
The problem was discovered by the Cumberland company.
The soups were sold at Trader Joe's stores in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
The recall covers 12-ounce boxes of Trader Ming's Yakisoba Noodles with Sesame Chicken Breast.
The recalled boxes are numbered P-21166 and show a sell-by date of "8/26" or earlier. The noodle soups were produced between July 1 and Aug. 15.
Anyone concerned about an allergic reaction should contact a physician.
