Nestle Prepared Foods Company is recalling 215,660 pounds of frozen pepperoni Hot Pockets.
The USDA says there might be some red plastic or other foreign materials inside the sandwiches. Nestle says the foreign substance may have splintered off from a testing device.
The recall involves the 54-ounce, 12-pack cartons of Hot Pockets. Printed on the side of each carton is "8157544614d," "est 7721a," and "Best Before Jan2010."
This is the third recall for the company this year. About a month ago, tons of Lean Pocket Spinach Artichoke sandwiches were pulled because of a similar concern. Back in February two more types of Hot Pockets were recalled due to tainted meat.
Consumers with questions should call the Nestle Consumer Services Hotline at 1-800-350-5016.
