Harris Teeter removes recalled soup from shelves

Charlotte, N.C. — Harris Teeter officials said Friday that mislabeled Progresso Hearty Tomato Soup will be removed from store shelves.

Progresso's parent company, General Mills, is recalling the product because the soup did not have the correct allergens – egg, milk and soy – listed on the label. The soup had the UPC Code 4119691068 and a “use by” date of May 18, 2010.

Those with the soup already in their pantries can return the item to Harris Teeter for a full refund.

For more information, consumers can contact the General Mills consumer hot line at 800-200-9377.
