OTTAWA, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Health Canada says a recall of several brands of acidophilus health products because of mislabeling has been expanded. The federal agency is advising Canadians with milk allergies of an additional acidophilus-containing health product labeled as "non-dairy," but which has been found to contain trace amounts of milk protein.
The product is "Natural Factors Super Strength Cal'dophilus" in both 180-capsule and 90-capsule containers.
Last Friday, Health Canada announced the recall of "Truly Premium All Naturals Acidophilus with Bifidus," "London Naturals Acidophilus with Bifidus" (30- 90- and 180-capsule sizes), "Acidophilus with Bifidus & FOS -- Webber Naturals (60- and 180-capsule sizes) and "Rexall Pro-Biotic."
Natural Factors Ltd., the packager and labeler of the supplements, has initiated a voluntary recall of the products.
