44,000 Strollers Recalled After Injuries Reported

Consumers Caught Fingers In Hinge

WASHINGTON -- Forty-four thousand strollers made by Regal Lager Phil and Ted's have been recalled because the strollers' hinge locking mechanism poses a laceration hazard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the voluntary recall after the company said it received nine reports from consumers who injured their fingers while folding and unfolding the strollers.

The recall includes the E3 single buggy, E3 twin buggy and sport V1 single buggy stroller. The strollers were sold by baby furniture and baby product stores nationwide from August 2003 to August 2008.

Consumers are advised to stop using the strollers immediately and call the manufacturer for a free hinge cover repair kit.

Consumers can call Regal Lager toll free at 877-242-5676 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit the Web site www.regallager.com/.
